A fresh, vibrant and crisp wine with flavoursome notes of fresh honeysuckle and floral aromas. The Marsanne provides structure whilst the Viognier lends a fragrant carefully balanced punch. Minerally and lean in its youth, it is sure to become a wine of generosity and honeyed complexity with some bottle age.

Viticulturist Notes

The fruit was crafted from 70% Marsanne grapes and 30% Viognier grapes, sourced from our Goulburn Valley vineyards in Central Victoria. The individual varieties were harvested separately over a three week period in March. Picking and crushing was completed during the cool of the night to maintain freshness. Fermentation at cool temperatures for 7 days in stainless steel fermenters has helped enhance the pure, fresh, clean flavours.

Wine Harvest Notes

The best way to describe vintage 2016 is organised chaos! There was no orderly ripening of fruit, no luxury of white fruit followed by red fruit, it was like the flood gates opened and everything just rolled in at once. We had little rain and a very hot spring leading up to harvest, which meant things ripened faster than normal. Optimum flavours and ripeness came on more quickly than previous years and the only way around it was to pick as fast as we could. Thankfully we managed to juggle our way through it, and the resultant quality is exceptional.

Food Recommendations:

This free spirited wine is a heavenly match with modern asian food. She also pairs perfectly with anything from the sea. Alternatively, match with a fresh fruit platter and some handmade cheese to blow your mind!
